A Prayer to Make Time for Others

“Simply so, I inform you, there shall be extra pleasure in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous individuals who want no repentance.” – Luke 15:7, ESV

A pal not too long ago shared her want to see her neighbor attend church. She was so captivated with this; she started to pursue an intentional relationship with the household. She relentlessly invited her and her children to dinner, playdates on the park, and to hang around on the pool. They had been at her daughter’s birthday events and different occasions at their home. Although it took time, she and her daughters began attending church repeatedly with my pal. 

I used to be amazed at how my pal persistently and purposefully invited this household into her life and ultimately into the gathering of God’s individuals. Her actions mirrored a side of the gospel I need to typically be reminded of. We serve a God who pursues His misplaced sheep. He goes after the one. He’s relentless in His pursuit. When that one misplaced sheep is discovered, heaven rejoices. This nice phenomenon is as a result of everybody who involves know Christ and joins the everlasting household is price pursuing and celebrating. 

• However will we all the time reside as if God’s misplaced sheep are price pursuing?
• Can we rearrange our schedule to incorporate time with somebody who doesn’t know Jesus?
• Can we pray for a listing of misplaced family and friends?
• Or will we danger discomfort to ask somebody outdoors of the household of God to affix us for dinner or a night Bible Examine at church? 

If I reply truthfully, I don’t all the time think about individuals worthy of creating these sacrifices. I don’t deliberately attempt to exclude individuals from my days; life simply will get busy. We’ve grocery buying to do. We’ve full-time jobs. And we have to spend high quality time with our households once we’re completed doing all the pieces else on our plates.

However possibly, like my pal who was following our even higher instance, we are able to think about others worthy of our pursuit. My pal’s persistence might have meant a celebration in heaven or a number of cases of heaven rejoicing when her neighbor’s kids or future generations come to know Christ as their Lord and Savior. Lord, I pray you forgive us for not prioritizing the pursuit of these in want of the gospel with that very same tenacity. Lord, break our hearts for what breaks yours. Educate us methods to pursue individuals even in the course of our busy lives. 

Lord, present us moments when we have to communicate up, attain out, and open our lives to these round us. Lord, assist us see individuals and love individuals as you do! Give us eyes to see them and the braveness to stroll with them. Lord, assist us to pursue them relentlessly.
