For these of us who grew up within the ‘90s, some issues by no means get previous. Dunkaroos. A great flannel shirt. The checklist goes on, however all the time touchdown someplace on the prime? The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Fortuitously for folks at this time, it’s simple to introduce your favourite pizza-eating humanoid terrapins to your personal children — as a result of they’re again, child. In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, the New York Metropolis-dwelling turtle bros (together with their new buddy April O’Neil) are intent on being accepted as regular youngsters… oh, and taking down a mysterious crime syndicate, too.

Heading up the crime syndicate is none apart from icon Ice Dice. He performs the prison mutant Superfly who’s, sure, a large mutant insect. Superfly believes the world can be higher off with out humanity, so he plans to unleash a ton of different nefarious mutants on the broader world.

Contemplating Ice Dice’s personal children have been big TMNT followers rising up, saying sure to the position wasn’t a tricky name. Scary Mommy caught up with Ice Dice for a fast Zoom to faucet into what makes this new model of TMNT so thrilling — plus, in true TMNT spirit, to search out out his favourite pizza toppings.

Scary Mommy: What offered you on the thought of taking part in the prison mutant Superfly?

Ice Dice: Oh, man … what’s to not like? To start with, being part of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles — such a storied franchise, over 30 years of fandom and 30 years of doing nice animation and live-action and comedian books and all that. Then, being a brand new character and the chief of all the opposite mutants, working with Seth Rogen [who co-wrote the screenplay, and executive produced], working with Jeff Rowe and Kyler Spears [the co-director] — there was a lot to draw me to this movie.

SM: You’ve stated your children have been followers of the OG motion pictures rising up, so that you clearly know and love these characters. Who’re you most like in actual life?

IC: Michelangelo (laughs). Straight chief, you already know what I imply? Comply with me and I will lead you to the Promised Land for certain. He is my favourite one.

SM: What’s actually the factor that jumps out essentially the most to you in regards to the film?

IC: The animation. Like, I am blown away by the fashion that was used on this movie. I’m a hip-hop fan; we’ve seen graffiti from all around the world, totally different kinds, and this jogged my memory of an entire film of graffiti artists doing an animated film … I used to be simply trying ahead to every scene and the way it was gonna be offered.

SM: Pizza is large within the TMNT universe. What are your favourite toppings, and what toppings do you suppose are downright prison?

IC: My favourite toppings are hen, olives, mushrooms. I like pastrami on pizza; that is nice. I feel the toppings which are prison are pepperoni (laughs), and I do not like sausage. However whenever you begin like placing tomatoes and, you already know, anchovies and stuff like that, you lose me — you lose me. I am not a bell pepper man, onions, all that sort of stuff, man. Reserve it for a salad.
